Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Intern

Job Description
The M&E Intern will assist the Monitoring and Evaluation officer in the planning, implementation, and coordination of M&E activities for Her Initiative’s projects. The intern will support data collection, analysis, and reporting to ensure effective project monitoring and evaluation. This role provides an opportunity for hands-on experience in M&E practices, contributing to the improvement of the program's performance and impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support with baseline data for each project component and for all project indicators.
- Assist with the production and revision of the project log frame matrix for design projects, particularly in the areas of performance indicators and their measurement.
- Assist the overall framework and plan for the project’s M&E highlighting key M&E activities such as mid-term project review, impact assessment, and final evaluation, Performance Monitoring Plan with relevant timelines, and data collection systems.
- Assist with produce risk assessment matrix for designed project and update according to findings or experience during project implementation.
- Support with design data collection tools qualitative and quantitative for a respective project.
- Support with data collection on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators
- Assist with reports on M&E findings related to projects and case studies and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required.
- Assist with the development and/or finalization of the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
- Organize and coordinate capacity building of project staff to implement M&E activities.
- Work closely with Her Initiative’s Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and key project personnel in documenting organizations' project information in all phases of project management
- Assist with the development of monthly department reports, quarter reports, annual reports, and project M&E reports in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation officer to identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project.
- Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation officer together with the project team and provide recommendations on improving performance.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT, PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION
- Assist with the development and/or finalization of the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and timeframes as relevant.
- Assist the project lead with overseeing the relationships with project funders, partners, potential project partners, Governments and all other relevant stakeholders.
- Attend meetings with project team members to identify and resolve issues.
- Support field activities to ensure smooth implementation and
- Assist with the preparations monthly and./or quarterly project reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
- Assist with the development and ensure appropriate tools and strategy to monitor the progress and quality and impact of the project being implemented.
- Assist with coordinating the development and implementation of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and turnover of the process

Eligibility:
- Must be a Tanzanian national.
- Having a Bachelor degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with adaptability and a proactive approach.
- Previous experience in M&E or project management is an added advantage.
